How it all started
My love for photography began at a young age. In high school, I took my first photography class and quickly became captivated by the process. Starting with 35mm film, I learned how to develop both the film and my own prints, and I was instantly hooked by the magic of capturing moments on film.
After graduating, I bought my first professional 35mm camera and began exploring photography more seriously. I photographed everything from animals and landscapes to family and friends, always eager to capture the beauty around me. Then, a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, and I had an absolute blast. That experience sparked something within me and pushed me to dive even deeper into my craft.
Soon after, I landed a job at Glamour Shots, where I had the opportunity to further develop my skills in a fun, fast-paced environment. It was a fantastic learning experience, especially as I transitioned from film to the digital world.
When I bought my first DSLR camera, I set up a small studio in my basement and started booking my own photography gigs. It was all a learning curve, but I poured my heart into every session and kept pushing myself to learn and grow as a photographer.
After a few years, life took me in a different direction as I became a single mom. It was difficult to find time for my passion, and I put my photography on hold for a while. But two years ago, I made a decision: I was going to return to photography, and this time, I was going to take it to the next level and turn it into a career.
I dusted off my old camera, watched countless YouTube tutorials, and joined a local studio to collaborate with other amazing creatives. Over time, I invested in workshops, new equipment, and most importantly, in expanding my knowledge of this art I love so much.
Looking back on my journey, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. What started as a childhood passion has grown into a career where I get to create beautiful memories for people every day. I'm thrilled to be living my dream and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes me!
How to Prepare for Your Photo Session: Tips for Looking & Feeling Your Best
Booking a professional photoshoot is exciting! Whether you're coming in for a family session, a couples shoot, or an individual portrait, preparation is key to getting the best results. Here’s everything you need to know about what to wear, what to expect, and how to make the most of your session!
What to Wear: Look & Feel Your Best
Your outfit choices play a big role in how your photos turn out. The goal is to wear something that complements your personality while also looking cohesive and timeless.
Families
✔ Choose colors that complement each other, rather than all matching exactly. Earthy tones, soft pastels, and neutral colors always photograph beautifully.
✔ Avoid too many patterns—a little is okay, but too much can be distracting.
✔ Skip graphic t-shirts and logos—they take attention away from your beautiful faces!
✔ Layers and textures (like scarves, sweaters, or denim) can add depth to your photos.
Couples
✔ Wear outfits that coordinate without being too matchy. Think complementary colors and styles.
✔ Consider your personalities—if you're fun and playful, go for a stylish yet relaxed look. If you're elegant and sophisticated, opt for dressier outfits.
✔ Pick clothing that flatters your body type and makes you feel confident.
✔ Avoid overly busy patterns that might clash in photos.
Individuals
✔ Bring at least two outfit options—one that’s fun and reflects your personality, and another that’s a bit dressier for a more polished look.
✔ Choose something that fits well and makes you feel comfortable—confidence shows in your photos!
✔ Accessories like hats, statement jewelry, or fun shoes can add a little extra flair to your portraits.
What to Expect During Your Session
Feeling a little nervous? Don’t worry—I’m here to guide you every step of the way! Here’s what you can expect when you step in front of my camera.
📸 Posing & Direction – No need to stress about what to do with your hands! I’ll provide plenty of posing guidance while also keeping things natural. If you have specific ideas or inspiration, feel free to share—I love collaboration!
😄 Candid Moments – Some of the best photos happen when you’re just being yourself. I’ll be engaging, chatting, and making sure to capture those genuine smiles and real emotions.
🌿 Outdoor Sessions – If we’re shooting outside, be prepared for a little adventure! We may do some walking to find the best spots, so wear comfortable shoes (you can always bring heels to change into!).
🏡 Studio Sessions – If we’re shooting in the studio, expect a relaxed and comfortable environment where we can play with lighting, backdrops, and creative ideas to make your photos unique.
📷 Quick Touch-Ups – If a hair is out of place or your necklace is askew, I’ll notice! I pay attention to the little details to ensure your final images are polished and beautiful.
Final Thoughts: Have Fun!
The best thing you can bring to your session (besides your outfits) is a great attitude! Relax, have fun, and trust the process—your personality and connection with your loved ones will shine through in the final images.

Capturing Genuine Emotion in Portrait Photography
Photography isn’t just about posing—it’s about feeling. The best photos come from real, raw emotions, and I make it my mission to bring those out in every session. Whether it’s a couple deeply in love, a child full of energy, or a family sharing a moment, I use fun and fluid motion to create authentic expressions that make for stunning images.
How I Bring Out True Emotion
📸 For Couples: I love capturing the natural chemistry between two people. Instead of stiff poses, I encourage movement and interaction.
✔ Dance it out! I might have a couple dance together, twirl, or spin—creating beautiful motion and genuine laughter.
✔ The almost-kiss trick. I’ll have them lean in close, noses touching, almost kissing but not quite—this always results in some of the best expressions, full of excitement and anticipation!
✔ Inside jokes & whispers. A little secret whispered in a partner’s ear (especially something silly) often leads to real, heartfelt smiles.
👦👧 For Children: Kids are full of energy, and I embrace that! The key is to make it a game, not a photoshoot.
✔ “No laughing allowed!” This reverse psychology trick never fails—it always leads to giggles and belly laughs.
✔ Run, jump, play! Asking them how fast they can run or how high they can jump brings out excitement and natural movement.
✔ Peek-a-boo magic. Simple yet effective, especially for younger kids. Their expressions of surprise and joy are priceless!
👨👩👧 For Families & Groups: Family dynamics shine when everyone feels comfortable.
✔ Candid connections. I might have parents snuggle their kids, whisper something funny, or have everyone walk together while chatting.
✔ Silly prompts. “Whisper your favorite food in Mom’s ear, but in your silliest voice!” creates adorable reactions.
Why It Works
By keeping things fun and interactive, the focus shifts from “taking a picture” to enjoying the moment—and that’s where the magic happens. The best smiles aren’t forced, and the most memorable photos are the ones filled with genuine joy.
When you step in front of my camera, expect laughter, movement, and real emotion—because that’s what makes a portrait truly unforgettable. 💛📷
Why Professional Photography is Worth the Investment
We live in a time where everyone has a camera in their pocket, ready to snap a quick photo at any moment. But when it comes to capturing life’s most meaningful moments, there’s a world of difference between a phone snapshot and a professionally taken image.
Professional photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about creating timeless, high-quality images that tell your story. Here’s why investing in professional photography is one of the best decisions you can make.
1. High-Quality Images That Last a Lifetime
When you invest in professional photography, you’re not just paying for a camera click—you’re paying for expertise, creativity, and the ability to capture moments in a way that stands the test of time. High-resolution, well-composed, and beautifully edited photos ensure that your memories don’t just live on a screen, but can be printed, framed, and cherished forever.
2. Posing & Guidance for the Best Shots
Ever feel awkward in front of the camera? You’re not alone! A professional photographer knows how to direct you into natural, flattering poses that showcase your personality and make you feel confident. Whether it’s a family session, a boudoir shoot, or a couple’s portrait, having a skilled photographer guiding you makes all the difference.
3. Professional Editing for a Polished Look
There’s a lot that goes into making an image truly shine—lighting adjustments, color correction, skin retouching, and more. A professional photographer has the tools and expertise to enhance your photos in a way that looks natural and polished, bringing out the best in every shot.
4. Capturing Genuine Emotion & Connection
A great photographer doesn’t just take pictures—they capture feelings. Whether it’s the love between a couple, the playful laughter of a child, or the confidence of a boudoir session, a professional knows how to bring out and preserve those real, raw emotions that make your photos truly special.
5. Experience & Professional Equipment Make a Difference
While smartphones and basic cameras are great for everyday snaps, professional photographers use top-of-the-line equipment, lenses, and lighting to produce high-quality, sharp, and beautifully lit images. But even more important than the gear is the experience—knowing how to use light, angles, and composition to create stunning images that an amateur simply can’t replicate.
6. Stress-Free Experience
Trying to take your own family photos with a tripod and a timer? Stressful. Hoping a friend’s phone picture turns out well? Risky. When you hire a professional, you can relax and enjoy the moment, knowing that every detail—from lighting to posing to editing—is taken care of.
7. These Moments Deserve More Than a Quick Snap
Life moves fast, and moments are fleeting. The milestones, the celebrations, the everyday love and laughter—these deserve to be captured beautifully. Investing in professional photography ensures that you have stunning, meaningful images that you can look back on and cherish for years to come.
Final Thoughts
When you choose to invest in professional photography, you’re not just paying for pictures—you’re investing in memories, emotions, and art. Whether it’s a family session, a maternity shoot, a couples' portrait, or a boudoir session, professional photography is a gift to yourself that lasts a lifetime.

Studio vs. Outdoor Photography: Which Is Right for You?
Choosing between studio and outdoor photography can be a tough decision when planning your session. Both offer unique advantages and create beautiful images, but the right choice depends on your vision, comfort, and the type of session you're looking for. Let’s break down the differences to help you decide!
Studio Photography: Controlled & Classic
A studio setting provides a controlled environment, perfect for polished, timeless portraits. Here’s why you might prefer a studio session:
✨ Pros of Studio Photography
✔ Weather-Proof: No need to worry about rain, wind, or extreme temperatures—your session happens in a comfortable, climate-controlled space.
✔ Perfect Lighting: With professional lighting equipment, we can achieve flawless lighting every time—no waiting for the perfect golden hour!
✔ Privacy & Intimacy: Ideal for boudoir, maternity, and professional headshots, a studio offers a private and relaxed setting with no outside distractions.
✔ Creative Control: Backdrops, props, and studio lighting allow for endless creativity, making it easier to achieve specific looks and styles.
💡 Who Should Choose Studio Photography?
- Boudoir clients looking for a private, confidence-boosting experience.
- Headshots & branding sessions needing a clean, professional look.
- Maternity & newborn shoots, where comfort and controlled lighting are essential.
- Families or individuals who prefer a timeless, classic portrait look.
Outdoor Photography: Natural & Candid
For those who love natural light, scenic backgrounds, and an organic feel, an outdoor session might be the perfect fit.
🌿 Pros of Outdoor Photography
✔ Gorgeous Natural Backdrops: Whether it’s a sunlit field, a forest, a beach, or an urban street, nature and architecture add depth and beauty to your photos.
✔ Dynamic & Fun: Outdoor sessions encourage movement—walking, dancing, playing—which leads to more natural, candid moments.
✔ Seasonal Variety: Spring blossoms, summer sunsets, fall foliage, or a snowy wonderland—each season brings its own magic!
✔ Great for Larger Groups: Families and couples can interact more naturally, creating relaxed and heartfelt images.
🌅 Who Should Choose Outdoor Photography?
- Families & couples looking for relaxed, candid shots with natural interaction.
- Engagement & maternity sessions where scenic beauty enhances the moment.
- Pet photography—outdoors is a great place for pets to feel at ease and playful.
- Anyone who loves adventure! If you love nature or have a favorite outdoor spot, this is your chance to showcase it.
So, Which One Is Right for You?
The choice comes down to your personal style, comfort level, and the type of photos you want.
- Want a controlled, professional, or intimate setting? Studio might be best for you.
- Prefer candid, movement-filled, natural images? Outdoor photography is your answer.
- Can’t decide? Why not both? Some sessions can be split between indoor and outdoor for the best of both worlds!
No matter which you choose, the most important thing is to have fun, be yourself, and let your personality shine. I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way to create beautiful, timeless images you’ll cherish forever.
💛 Which style do you love more—studio or outdoor?
How to Include Pets in Your Family Photoshoot 🐾📸
Our pets are part of the family, so why leave them out of your family photos? Including your furry friends in your session adds warmth, personality, and a whole lot of fun! But let’s be honest—pets can be unpredictable, so a little preparation goes a long way. Here’s how to make your family photoshoot with pets a success!
1. Choose a Pet-Friendly Location 🏞️
If you’re planning an outdoor session, pick a pet-friendly park, field, or backyard where your furry friend feels comfortable. For indoor studio sessions, let me know ahead of time so we can create a pet-friendly setup.
2. Bring Treats & Toys 🍖🎾
Want to keep your pet engaged and cooperative? Treats, favorite toys, or even a squeaky ball can help grab their attention and encourage good behavior. Bonus: they can also make for some adorable action shots!
3. Dress for the Occasion 👗🐕
If your pet wears a cute bowtie, bandana, or collar that complements your family's outfits, it can make for a coordinated and stylish look! Avoid anything that might make them uncomfortable, and always keep their personality in mind.
4. Get Them Comfortable Before the Shoot 🐾
Take your dog for a short walk beforehand to burn off extra energy, or give your cat some playtime so they’re a little more relaxed. A happy, calm pet makes for a smoother session!
5. Be Flexible & Have Fun 😆
Pets can be unpredictable, and that’s okay! The best photos often come from candid, in-the-moment interactions. Whether they’re licking your face, wagging their tail, or simply sitting by your side, their true personality will shine through.
6. Capture the Connection ❤️
One of the most beautiful things about including pets in your photos is capturing the love and bond you share. Whether it’s snuggles, playful moments, or just relaxing together, these are the moments you’ll treasure forever.
7. Safety First 🛑
Always bring a leash (even if we plan to edit it out later) and keep pet safety in mind. If your pet gets nervous around strangers or in new environments, let’s chat beforehand to find the best way to make them comfortable.
Final Thoughts
Including your pet in your family photos makes for a fun, heartfelt, and truly personal session. With a little preparation, we’ll capture genuine, beautiful moments that celebrate your entire family—fur babies included! 🐶🐾🐱

The Magic of Everyday Moments: Finding Joy in the Chaos of Family Life
Life with a family is rarely quiet. There are toys scattered on the floor, little voices calling your name, and an endless to-do list waiting for your attention. It can feel like a whirlwind—one that leaves you wondering where the time goes. But within the chaos, there are hidden moments of magic, waiting to be noticed.
As a photographer, I often get to witness families in their most genuine, unfiltered moments. I see the way a mother instinctively tucks a loose strand of hair behind her child’s ear, the way a father’s eyes light up when his little one reaches for his hand, the way siblings giggle together over an inside joke. These are the moments that make up the heart of family life—the tiny, seemingly ordinary pieces that weave together into something extraordinary.
The Beauty in the Little Things
It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and overlook the small things that truly matter. But the magic of childhood, of family, isn’t found in grand, perfectly planned experiences. It’s in the spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen, the bedtime stories read for the hundredth time, the whispered “I love yous” before the lights go out.
Finding joy in these everyday moments starts with presence. It’s about letting go of perfection and embracing what is real—messy, unpredictable, and beautiful. It’s about recognizing that the chaos is often a sign of love in motion.
Letting Go of the Need for Perfection
There is so much pressure to have it all together—to keep the house spotless, to be the perfect parent, to make sure every milestone is captured in a scrapbook. But real life doesn’t happen in perfectly staged moments. Real life is found in sticky hands reaching for yours, in the mismatched pajamas on a Saturday morning, in the way your child leans into you after a long day.
The next time you feel overwhelmed by the noise, the mess, or the never-ending responsibilities, take a deep breath and shift your focus. Look for the magic in front of you—the laughter, the connection, the love that fills your home.
Holding Onto the Moments That Matter
One day, the house will be quieter. The little hands won’t reach for yours as often, and the toys will no longer clutter the living room. But the memories of these everyday moments? They will stay with you forever.
So, pause for a second. Take a mental picture, or better yet, snap a real one. Cherish the way life feels right now, in all its beautiful chaos. Because these are the moments that make up your family’s story—the moments that truly matter.
Warm Weather Fun: Family Activities for All Ages
As the days get longer and the temperatures rise, it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy some fun with the family! Whether you have young kids eager to explore or teenagers looking for adventure, there are plenty of activities to make the most of the warm weather. Here are some ideas to keep everyone entertained and create lasting memories together.
Outdoor Adventures for All Ages
1. Have a Picnic in the Park
Pack a blanket, some delicious snacks, and head to a nearby park for a family picnic. Let the kids run around, play frisbee, or just relax and enjoy nature. For younger children, bring bubbles or sidewalk chalk, and for teens, consider a friendly game of soccer or volleyball.
2. Go on a Nature Walk or Hike
Explore a local trail or nature reserve together. Younger kids can collect leaves or rocks as souvenirs, while older kids and teens might enjoy taking photos or spotting wildlife. To make it more fun, turn it into a scavenger hunt with a list of things to find!
3. Hit the Beach or Lake
A day at the beach or lake is perfect for swimming, building sandcastles, or even trying out paddleboarding. If you have older kids, bring along a kayak or rent one for some extra adventure. Don’t forget sunscreen and plenty of water!
4. Backyard Camping
If you’re not up for a full camping trip, why not set up a tent in the backyard? Roast marshmallows, tell stories, and gaze at the stars. This is a great way to introduce younger kids to camping while keeping the comforts of home nearby.
5. Visit a Local Zoo or Farm
Younger kids will love seeing animals up close at a petting zoo, while teens might enjoy a wildlife sanctuary or an interactive farm experience. Many places offer feeding opportunities or educational programs that make the visit even more engaging.
Water Fun to Beat the Heat
6. Splash Pad Fun
For families with little ones, splash pads are a fantastic way to cool off without the worry of deep water. Many parks have free splash pads with fountains and water sprayers that kids love.
7. DIY Water Park in the Backyard
Set up a slip-and-slide, water balloons, or a kiddie pool for instant summer fun. Older kids and teens might enjoy a water gun battle or a homemade obstacle course with sprinklers.
8. Try a New Water Sport
For families looking for a thrill, consider trying a new water activity like tubing, wakeboarding, or jet skiing. Many rental spots offer beginner-friendly options, so everyone can participate.
Fun and Educational Outings
9. Visit a Science or Children’s Museum
On especially hot days, head indoors to a museum where kids can explore hands-on exhibits. Many science centers have interactive displays that engage both young children and teens.
10. Go to an Outdoor Movie Night
Many communities offer free outdoor movie nights in the summer. Pack some blankets and snacks, and enjoy a film under the stars. You can even set up your own backyard movie night with a projector!
11. Explore a Farmers' Market
Take the kids to a local farmers' market where they can learn about fresh produce, try new foods, and even pick out ingredients for a family meal. Let them help cook later to make it even more exciting!
Creative and Active Fun
12. Bike Riding or Roller Skating
Explore a new bike trail or take a ride through your neighborhood. If your kids are into rollerblading or skateboarding, find a smooth path or skate park where they can practice their skills.
13. Create Sidewalk Chalk Art
Encourage creativity by drawing colorful designs on the driveway or sidewalk. Older kids might enjoy creating chalk murals, while younger ones can practice shapes and letters.
14. Host a Family Field Day
Organize a mini field day with sack races, three-legged races, and relay games. Teens can help set up challenges, and you can end the day with a fun prize for everyone.
15. Try Geocaching
For a real-life treasure hunt, try geocaching! Using a smartphone app, your family can navigate to hidden caches all over your town. It’s a fun way to get kids of all ages outside and exploring.
16. Make Homemade Ice Cream
Cool off by making your own ice cream! Whether you use an ice cream maker or a simple bag-shaking method, it’s a delicious way to bond with the family. Let everyone pick their favorite flavors and toppings.
Making Memories Together
No matter what activities you choose, the most important thing is to enjoy the time spent together. Take lots of photos, laugh often, and soak in every moment of fun. Warm weather doesn’t last forever, so make the most of it with your loved ones!
